SONIC AND ICONIC
Gingerella formed in early 2021, when singer Tommy met lead guitarist Noah Charlton through Denmark Street guitar shops, however it wasn't until bassist Simon Pattyn and drummer Ed Myers joined that Gingerella became what it is today. The band have sustained consistent sold out London shows (including The Lexington, Shacklewell Arms, Water Rats and The Social) and also featured at Isle of Wight festival, CoastFest in Newcastle and Lakefest, including a main stage appearance after winning national 'Road To Lakefest' competition. This led to the recording of debut single 'Party Girls' with Mark Gardener (Ride) currently sat at 50k streams on Spotify. Gingerella have also experienced significant success in France, with a string of sold out Paris shows including Point Ephemere, NoPi/SubPi, Supersonic and Nouveau Casino. This led to their 2026 French tour which featured sold out dates in Bordeaux and Toulouse.
Gingerella describe themselves as a band with British pop sensibilities, driven by the "kitchen sink" style of witty songwriting and timeless melodies, however their live shows have been noted for their ferocity and high-energy live jams. Their androgynous and playful identity are also influenced by glam rock and music hall traditions with their aim to write enduring, classic songs - carrying forward the torch of Britain’s great songwriting tradition.
"This is the sound and songwriting of a band who could not only stand the test of time but could also become mainstream favourites for a lot of folk if they play this right" (Listen With Monger).
They have been championed by Rock & Folk Magazine, including a double page spread in late 2025 "if rock and roll had a future, it was standing right in front of us". They also featured in national newspaper Liberation "a true masterpiece", HERO magazine and Celine campaigns by Hedi Slimane. In May 2025 the band released their 3D pop up vinyl-only EP "Eat Your Heart Out" through Toulouse record label Pop Superette - produced by Brendan Lynch (Paul Weller, Primal Scream) - which sold in Rough Trade, FNAC and HMV. This was followed by a LiveNation organised release show at Camden Assembly and Les Etoiles in Paris. Gingerella also featured at the Yungblud curated opening of his flagship 'BRAT' store on Denmark Street. The band are now onto their third single release with a digital EP in the works (Brendan Lynch & Max Heyes) and 5 years gigging experience under their belt - given the momentum, audience and clear sense of craft the band possesses, with the right support the future holds endless possibilities for the group.
